9-9-2012 Quick Update

As seems to be the trend with many of my online endeavors, an elongated timeline eventually takes hold for a variety of reasons and this revitalization of The Law Book List into The 2012 Code Book Index is not much of an exception to this process.

Also, this project is currently more of a personal time-filler on days that I am prevented from fulfilling a variety of other obligations - of which I am hoping to change this status soon.

In the meantime, reasons for this current stretch of blogging silence includes a sidetrack of development of a complimentary switchboard service dealing with Municipal Meeting Minutes. I have opened the 2012 Municipal Meeting Minutes Index blog and hope to have content for both of these blogs shortly.  Despite both Indexes sharing some data (i.e. name and phone number), confirmation of content takes time but it seems to be a worthy compliment to the original direction of The Law Book List.

Traces of a law being enacted can be found in a variety of meeting minutes and is the most crucial piece of documentation as it relates to auditing a book of laws.  Meeting minutes prevent a municipality from arbitrarily inking out new laws and slipping the pages into the Municipal Code Book.  Meeting minutes frequently reflect a measure of public opinion about a law, along with properly identifying how a government official voted when it came to adopting the draft ordinance.  Meeting minutes are supposed to reflect a record of a wide variety of public government activities and proceedings as it relates to a municipality operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the State, or perhaps a franchise setting...?

Regardless of how empty as the Indexes may be at this point on the timeline, I believe both blogs still are able to reflect self-standing proof of concept demonstrations of possibilities towards improving the publishing and distribution of public documentation as it relates to sustaining a viable system of justice by and between multiple jurisdictions, including but not limited to County, Township, State and even Federal.

Therefore, should conditions permit me a few chunks of time in the next few weeks, I should have content posted on both The 2012 Code Book Index and The 2012 Municipal Meeting Minutes Index.  Feel free to stop by in the beginning of October!
